Where several writers such as Gerhard Hauptmann got inspiration? And the painter Caspar David Friedrich did some of his finest landscapes?
Accompany us a piece and we show you, which variety has the island to offer. Coming over the old Hanseatic city Stralsund, you drive over the "Rügendamm" to our dream island. If you travel without a car, you can rent a car any time.
The first destination is the old fishing village Glowe in the northeast of the island. In the hotel and pension "Zur Schaabe" you'll find a good overnight accomodation as well as typical courts of the Mecklenburgian kitchen.
Our house is in direct proximity to the beach. Only a few minutes separate you and the "Schaabe" from the beautiful beach. On the one hand you arrive at the Marina, it are worth them to visit. On the other hand you can go over 15 km in direction to Juliusruh along the beautiful beach.
Ruegen is strongly fissured. If you would want to orbit the island, you nevertheless drive about 570 km.
Ruegen - a fantastic and versatile island with its radiating white chalk rock, the green hills, an island for romantics. They do much for the tourists, but always embedded into the landscape.
